The Canon PowerShot SX500 was announced a month earlier (August 21, 2012) than the Canon SX50 HS. The SX500 IS was designed to be much more compact than the bridge superzoom cameras, offer less zoom range, no electronic viewfinder and lacks some features that you’ll find on the higher-end models. The Canon PowerShot SX170 IS delivers a 16x zoom range at a low price, but images are noisy and the camera is a slow performer. MSRP $179.99 PCMag editors select and review products independently . There is a 2 year gap between Canon SX400 IS (2014) and Canon SX500 IS (2012).All things being equal, newer sensor generations generally outperform the older. The Canon PowerShot SX150 IS takes very good photos for its class, though like most compact cameras it's at its best below ISO 200. At ISO 400 there's a noticeable increase in noise and softness Canon has announced its PowerShot SX510 and SX170 superzoom digital cameras. The PowerShot SX510 HS now uses a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor (versus a 16MP CCD on its predecessor), hence the new 'HS' designation. It offers Wi-Fi connectivity and what's almost certainly the same 24-720mm equivalent optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD and Full HD video. The SX170 is essentially the same as its SX160
Re: Canon SX50 HS Moon Photograph. In reply to JWIS206 • Jul 23, 2015. Two moon shots on the page today (one sx50 and one sx60) and they are both at ISO 800. The only way to get decent detail on a moon shot is at ISO 100 try giving that a shot and see if your detail improves. At ISO 800 you get lots of NR that wipes out detail.
Canon's PowerShot SX100 IS slips into the market a tad later than Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-H3, but like that model inspires more thoughts about its tradeoffs than its attractions. 7.3 Canon PowerShot 3USgni.
